The television series of the same name is unrelated. McCambridge's work is the real-world practice of mentalism on a live audience — not a fictionalized crime-solving drama.

Traditional stage magic involves apparatus — cards, boxes, assistants, misdirection, physical sleight of hand. Mentalism works with the human mind: reading behavioral cues, making predictions, revealing information that people haven't shared out loud, and creating the impression of genuine mind-reading. It doesn't require props because the audience is the props. Whether the mechanism is cold reading, psychological technique, or something else entirely is part of what the show leaves deliberately unresolved. Most people leave with a theory. Most theories are incomplete.

Audience members are real guests, not plants. The intimacy of the V Theater upstairs makes this particularly apparent — the room is small enough that you're watching genuine strangers react in real time. That authenticity is the whole mechanism of mentalism. Planted audience members would break what makes it work.

The V Theater runs two separate shows — Popovich Comedy Pet Theater on the main floor and The Mentalist upstairs in the V2 showroom. Enter Miracle Mile Shops through Planet Hollywood and follow signage to the V Theater, then head upstairs. The mall layout can be disorienting. Seating opens 30 minutes before showtime — plan to be in the hotel 45 minutes early so you have time to find the theater, use the restroom, and get settled before the show starts.

All ages are welcome. The show is recommended for guests 16 and older because mentalism works best for audiences who can engage actively with the psychological dimensions of the performance. Younger children may enjoy it, but the format assumes an audience that can follow what's happening on that level. No adult content, no strong language.
